Recently, Capcom released a trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil Showcase, though at the time there was no indication of exactly when it would be taking place. Fans have since wondering what the developer has in store and waiting for a concrete date. Much of the what’s on everyone’s lips will be the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 8, which will be dropping on October 28. In the meantime, the presentation will be commencing just a week before that.

That’s according to the official Resident Evil Twitter account, which recently said the event will be going ahead on October 20. The times have also been revealed, and things will be kicking off at 3:00 PM PDT, 6 PM EDT, and 11 PM BST. The tweet is accompanied by a 30-second teaser trailer that gives some information about what fans can expect. Capcom also says people are welcome to stream and watch the event on their own channels.

The showcase will primarily put focus on Resident Evil Village’s upcoming Gold Edition, which will feature the Shadows of Rose expansion, a new third-person mode, and new playable characters in Mercenaries mode. As well as this, the developer will demonstrate some new footage from the eagerly awaited remake of Resident Evil 4. The trailer also says there is “more on the menu,” but there’s no other information on what that could entail. In general, it sounds like it’s going to be a pretty exciting event for fans of the series.

There have been hopes of a Resident Evil 9 being in pre-production, but so far nothing has been confirmed by official sources. Whether or not the showcase will be an opportunity for Capcom to announce a follow-up to Village is pure speculation at this stage. Of course, many would love to see a new entry, but at the very least, the RE4 gameplay footage plus more details about the Gold Edition should be enough to satiate fans for now.

Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition will release on October 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
