As seen below in the tweet from the video games industry Analyst at Niko Partners, Daniel Ahmad, the two big titles set to come from Capcom will drop at some point before March 2019, but there’s currently no word as to which games they will be. What’s more is that the company is dialing back its expectations for the releases to exceed the success of Monster Hunter World, as the firm has stated that it anticipates combined sales for both to be lower than last year.
When it comes to which properties Capcom has in mind as its two “major” games for this fiscal year, there’s really no telling at this point. Nevertheless, many are speculating that one of the titles will be Devil May Cry 5, as rumors regarding the development of the next entry in the franchise have been swirling for quite some time. Then again, the hearsay could simply be a product of fans’ desire to see another sequel in the series.
The second significant title from Capcom to see a release this fiscal year could be none other than the Resident Evil 2 remake, as fans have been waiting patiently in the dark for an update on the project for a while. In fact, the most recent piece of news shared about the updated survival-horror game was offered up over two years ago when Capcom decided to clear up confusion and confirm that it wasn’t a remaster, but “a full from the ground up remake”.
Taking all of this into account, there’s still the chance that Capcom could completely surprise everyone and choose to release two completely unexpected titles as its “major” games for this fiscal year. As it so happens, the company recently had new Onimusha trademarks filed. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean a fresh title in the action-adventure series is in development. But if die-hard Capcom fans had their say, a fresh Onimusha would get a release soon, as would a current-gen Mega Man.
Capcom has yet to announce which two “major” games it plans on releasing during this fiscal year.
