The Capitals center announced early Tuesday his engagement to actress and dancer Julianne Hough after nearly two years of dating. The couple made simultaneous announcements on Instagram in a well-coordinated effort to share their big news.

“We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement!” Laich and Hough both captioned their Instagram photo that showed the “Dancing With the Stars” judge jumping into the arms of her NHL veteran fiancé.
