The story in question was from when Gordon was arrested in July 2014 and was automatically tweeted out while WXIA was doing maintenance on its website, though it did carry an August 10 time stamp.

The station quickly deleted the tweet, sent a clarification, and added an editor’s note to the top of last summer’s story. But the damage was done, and the man on the receiving end — who is currently serving an NFL suspension of at least one year — didn’t appreciate it.
